Caredoc is an out of hours family doctors service for patients with urgent medical problems who need to contact a doctor after surgeries close. Persons with identical needs receive the same standard of treatment and care, irrespective of where they live, where they are treated, what their incomes are or whether they are public patients or private patients.

Caredoc are long standing customers of ATS and have been with us for over 10 years.  They began with a Toshiba DK280 system but as their internal requirements changed so too did the functionalities required for their telephone system. 

REQUIREMENT
Caredoc were looking for an upgrade from their Toshiba DK280 system. They required a cost effective solution which would cater for remote IP users and that delivered the essential needs required for a dynamic emergency service in Ireland today.  Caredoc also required a voice recording facility along with a call centre application.
 
SOLUTION
The ATS Group delivered all of the above requirements set out by Caredoc by installing an Alcatel-Lucent Omni PCX Enterprise solution which caters for up to 500 users at present with the ability to grow 100 times over. The system also includes enhanced call handling services throughout the country.
Caredoc have 12 sites throughout the country with an average of 2-5 users per site, which also include gateways throughout the country from Monaghan to Cork. These sites also include home users which the system caters for. The Omni PCX enterprise acts as one transparent Voice system throughout the country.  This facilitates the easy and cost effective transfer of calls between branches of Caredoc throughout the country using the internal dialing facility.

By using VOIP, all sites and users have internal dialing throughout their sites across the country over their data network, at no cost to Caredoc, with break in/out throughout the country. This equates to large yearly savings for Caredoc.

The Omni PCX Enterprise provides Caredoc with the ability to add new sites or users onto their network with no effect to their other sites. In fact any additional users/sites can avail of all system features but can also run independently if needed. Each remote site can have local trunks for incoming and outgoing calls with desk to desk calls between branches.

The Enterprise system has full in-built seamless redundancy along with branch redundancy to protect against data infrastructure failure.
